Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau wants the entire citizens of the State to use their diversity as source of strength to enhance peace, unity and development of the State.
This, the State Number One Lawmaker challenged Eggon people to use their numerical strength to foster more unity among other ethnic nationalities in the State.
Speaker Jatau threw the challenge at the celebration of the coronation of the traditional ruler of Eggon people, the Arren Eggon of Kokona LG, James Affi held at Garaku the headquarters of Kokona LGA today.
know doubt, it was an atmosphere of celebration and display of high cultural heritage as Eggon people of Kokona LGA rolled out their drums and trumpets to celebrate the coronation of James Affi as the new and second Eggon traditional ruler in the area, the Arren Eggon of Kokona local government with the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau himself a son of the soil chaired the occasion.
Both young and old, irrespective of status could not hide their joy as the Anzalo dancers resonated the ancient Eggon songs and dance to celebrate James Affi who was coronated as Arren Eggon of Kokona LG by the First Class Traditional Ruler of Area, the Abaga Toni HRH Lawrence Ayi.
Aside felicitating with the new Arren Eggon, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau told his Kinsmen, the Eggon speaking people to use their numerical strength to foster unity among other nationalities in the State for peace, unity and development to thrive supreme in the society.
The State Number Three Citizen advocated the need for the entire citizens of the State to use their diversity as source of strength to enhance more peace, unity and development in the State as well as to build an egalitarian society for all.
The Speaker called on the celebrant to consolidate on the peace and unity the Eggon people of Kokona local government are enjoying, reminding him that posterity will live to judge his throne base on his contributions to development of Kokona local government, the Eggon nation and the State at large.
Speaker Jatau commended Abaga Toni for his pragmatic leadership style and Governor Abdullahi Sule for his developmental strides in the area and called for its sustenance.
On his part, the Chairman of Kokona LGA Hon. Awwalu Adamu and the National president Eggon Cultural Development Association, David Abuluya among other speakers tasked the new Arren Eggon to operate an open door policy, be just and fair in his conduct for the benefit of all.
The celebrant, James Affi who thanked the Abaga Toni for his coronation and his course for peace, unity and development in the area said such attributes has been his cardinal principles in life and promised to consolidate on that just as he lauded the Speaker for his all inclusive leadership qualities and urged him to sustain the spirit.
During the celebration, Nine Eggon illustrious sons and daughters of Kokona local government including the Speaker were turbaned with different traditional titles with the Speaker crowned as Dan-Galadima ba Eggon just as funds were raised to construct the palace for the new Arren Eggon of Kokona local government.
Paise singers and different Eggon cultural dance groups featured prominently at the event just as unveiling of Eggon traditional food climaxed the occasion that had in attendance the State first female lawmaker Hon. Marry Nwagulu as well as the representative of Arren Eggon Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku(Rtd) among others.
