Member representing Lafia Central constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Solomon Yakubu AKwashiki, says he has spent N5million to construct Agyaragu bridge in Lafia Local Government Area of the State.
This, he said, was to link communities in the area thereby boosting agricultural and socio-economic activities of the people.
Hon Akwashiki, Chairman, House Committee on Public Account made this known while commissioning the bridge at Agyaragu in Lafia Local Government Area today.
Hon. AKwashiki was in Agyaragu to pay a sallah Homage to the Villege Head of the area, Salihu Angulu and proceeded to commission a bridge he constructed for the community.
He said that the construction of the bridge at Agyaragu in Lafia LG was to address the plights of the locals and to fulfill his campaign promises.
" The bridge will connect communities in order to boost agricultural and socio-economic activities of the people of the area.
" This will in turn boost the revenue base of the people of the area and the state at large," he said.
" This bridge has been a nightmare of the people for some times now" He added.
He said he will continue to embark on projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the rural dwellers.
The lawmaker disclosed that ahead of the celebration to mark his one year in office, modalities have been completed to commission projects he embarked on in villages and towns in Lafia Central.
He said he was much aware of the sufferings the rural dwellers are facing and is committed to providing assistance to them in order to improve on their standard of living.
Akwashiki said that politicking is over and is now time for governance.
The lawmaker assured of continuous good and sound representation at the state assembly.
Hon Akwashiki urged the people of the area and the state at large to continue to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.
Responding, the Village Head of Agyaragu, Salihu Angulu commended the lawmaker for coming to the rescue of his people by constructing the bridge.
He revealed that the bridge before now has been an obstacle to them praying God to reward him abundantly.
