In response to recent rumors, Governor Siminialayi Fubara of Rivers State has firmly denied any plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The statement, issued by, Tambari Sydney Gbara, the PDP State Publicity Secretary, categorically dismissed claims made by Chibuike Ikenga, Publicity Secretary of an APC faction, as baseless and misleading.

According to the press release, Governor Fubara has not engaged in any discussions regarding a potential switch to the APC, citing his strong belief in the PDP's principles and the absence of APC representation in the state.

The release emphasizes Governor Fubara's leadership within the PDP, noting his inherited party structures and his role as Vice Chairman of the PDP Governors' Forum, which positions him as a key decision-maker at the national level.

Furthermore, the release highlights the governor's focus on governance challenges in the state, indicating that his priority lies in addressing these issues rather than engaging in political maneuvering.

It underscores the governor's disdain for attempts to exploit his name for personal gain, dismissing such efforts as futile.

The release reiterates the governor's unwavering commitment to the PDP, asserting that while there may be other avenues for political advancement, aligning with the APC is not a viable option.

The statement assures party members and supporters that Governor Fubara remains dedicated to strengthening the PDP and advancing the political future of Rivers State.
