FOMWAN Organizes 'GORO SALLAH' Celebration in Nasarawa State

The Nasarawa State Chapter of the Federation of Muslim Women's Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), led by Hajiya Hasiya Ahmed Jagaban Matan Kokona, organized a 'GORO SALLAH' celebration today, 14 April 2024, at the Eid ground in Lafia.

The event served as a reminder of the teachings from the Tafsir and provided an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate Eid Fitir as a family.

Distinguished guests in attendance included Prof. Mohammed Tanko Baitullah from the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA), Dr. Zainab Ahmed, Former Secretary of Government of Nasarawa state who is the Zonal Coordinator and National Assistant Secretary of FOMWAN, Mrs. Hauwa Yakubu, the State President of the Women Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN), as well as local government Amiras and former State Amirats.

Hajiya Hasiya Ahmed emphasized the importance of being exemplary wives and parents within our households, even beyond the Ramadan period, highlighting that marriage and the upbringing of children are integral aspects of our deeds.

Special prayers were offered for the association and the state at large. The Amirat extended prayers for the safe return journey of all attendees to their respective destinations.
