Senator Abdul Ningi from Bauchi Central has spoken out to clarify his recent remarks made in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service.
Following widespread reports of his accusations against President Bola Tinubu, Ningi now asserts that he was thoroughly misrepresented and taken aback by the ensuing controversy.
Addressing the press earlier today, Ningi stated that he did not accuse President Tinubu of operating two versions of the 2024 budget, as previously reported. He emphasized that he was speaking in his personal capacity and not on behalf of the Northern Senators Forum, contrary to some claims.
Ningi expressed his surprise at the press release circulating in the media, reaffirming that he never made statements alleging bias against the North or regarding the implementation of a 25 trillion or 28 trillion budget by Tinubu's administration.
