Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has instructed the Governing Council of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) to restart the employment process, previously halted due to irregularities.

Governor Fubara, speaking during the inauguration of the reconstituted governing council, emphasized the importance of merit-based appointments, with specific quotas for academic and non-academic staff.

He underscored the significance of engaging competent individuals to uphold educational standards, warning against nepotism or compromising quality in staffing decisions.

The Pro-Chancellor, Chief Adokiye Amiesimaka, expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged to work towards enhancing the university's reputation for excellence.


The newly appointed Governing Council, led by Chief Adokiye Amiesimaka, comprises individuals committed to fulfilling their responsibilities and ensuring the advancement of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education.
