The former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, arrived in Ilorin, his hometown, on Monday, to commence this year's Ramadan fasting with family, friends, and political associates.
Saraki later prayed the Solat Magrib congregational prayers and observed Iftar with guests at his GRA Ilorin residence.
Expressing his joy at uniting with the people at the commencement of this year's Ramadan fast, Saraki, according to a statement signed by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, urged everyone to spend the period in total supplication for Nigeria and Kwara State.
He described the period as the holy month, emphasizing that it should be spent seeking the face of Allah, reuniting as a people, sharing love, and giving generously to the needy.
He assured the people of his commitment to the progress of the land and charged them to remain steadfast and devoted towards building a better society.
