President Tinubu Vows Support for Security Agencies in Abducted Citizens' Rescue Efforts

President Bola Tinubu 
reaffirmed his government's commitment to aiding security agencies in the rescue of abducted citizens, including pupils and students, from the grips of bandits. Notably, the government stands firm on its stance of refusing to pay any ransom to the bandits.

Council Approves Contracts and Insurance Measures

1. The council has greenlit a contract award for the engagement of Messrs R2U Architects as consultants for the construction of NDLEA barracks in Enugu, Kano, and Jigawa states.

2. Approval has been granted for Group Life Insurance covering police personnel, property insurance for police buildings and barracks, as well as aviation and marine insurance, totaling N20.1 Billion. The insurance coverage will be provided by Messrs Total Security Insurance Brokers and Messrs Golan Heights Insurance Brokers, in collaboration with close to 100 brokers, with Leadway Assurance and Anchor Insurance serving as lead underwriters.

3. The council has sanctioned an augmentation of the contract for the dualisation of Obajana-Benin Road, amounting to N897.6 Billion. Initially awarded in 2012 to various construction firms, the project aims to enhance transportation infrastructure.

4. Additionally, approval has been granted for the construction of the Isheri North-Ogun state road, estimated at N2.2 billion, with the objective of alleviating congestion on the Lagos-Shagamu Expressway.

5. The council has also greenlit a contract for the rehabilitation of Ebute Ero Outer Marina Shoreline in Lagos, totaling N114.1 Billion, with a completion timeframe of 30 months.

 Ministerial Briefings Highlight Achievements

During the session, the council received briefings from the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Minister of Communications, and Minister of Trade and Industry, showcasing the significant strides made by their respective ministries and the nation as a whole.
