Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, on Monday, commissioned the Nasarawa Technology Village Phase one.
Sule said that the initiative of the project was to enhance economic growth, attract investment, create jobs, and tackle poverty in the state.
The Governor stated this during the commissioning of Nasarawa Technology Village Phase 1, Ground Breaking Ceremony of Technology hub, and flag-off of Nasarawa Technology Village Phase two today in Aso Pada, Karu LGA of the State.
The Governor said that his administration was committed to providing accessible and affordable housing and other projects to the people of the state and other Nigerians.
He also said that his administration was committed to the development of technology, adding that the digital economy was the way to go.
"The Nasarawa Technology Village has changed the face of this locality and will impact the economy of our state now and in the future.
"Our administration is committed to infrastructural development, Urban, and sustainable Housing Development," he said.
Sule appreciated partners in ensuring the success of the project.
He also appreciated Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Ahmed Dangiwa, Sen. Tanko Al-Makura, Speaker of the state legislature, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, among others, for attending the event.
Also speaking, Prof. Babagana Zulum of Borno State and Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Ahmed Dangiwa, commended Gov. Sule for initiating the project.
They said that the projects would go a long way in boosting economic activities, creating jobs, and fostering economic growth and development in the country.
The Minister also said that the federal government was committed to providing accessible and affordable accommodation to Nigerians.
On his part, Mr. Mohammed Yamusa, Managing Director, Nasarawa Technology Village and ABS Blueprint Ltd, said that 100 housing units have been completed for the first phase.
He said that many people, including skilled and unskilled workers, have been engaged as a result of the project.
The managing director also said that the Nasarawa Technology Village would boost economic activities, thereby improving the standard of living of the people.
Earlier, Hon. James Thomas, Chairman, Karu LGA, appreciated Gov. Sule for initiating the project in the area considering the benefits of the projects to the area and the country at large.
The chairman assured the Governor of their support to succeed.
The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, led other members of the House to the event, just as the Emir of Keffi led other traditional rulers.
It should be noted that the event had in attendance the state Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, Sen. Tanko Al-Makura, Hon. Jibrilla Bindow, former Governor of Adamawa State, Rep. Jonathan Gaza, Minister of State for Police Affairs Iman Suleiman Ibrahim, bank executives, captains of industries, prominent sons and daughters of the State holding key government positions within and outside the state, members of the Nigerian Customs Service, and other personalities.
