Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau says perpetrators of communal attack at Apawu community of Agwada Development Area will be tracked and punished to serve as deterrent to others and enhance peace in the area. 

The Speaker gave the assurance while on  assessment visit to Apawu community today.

Speaker Jatau said that the visit to the community was to identify with the victims and assess the level of damage.

The Speaker took time to inspect the burnt houses and properties destroyed with an assurance that perpetrators of the communal attack will be brought to book. 

The State Number Three citizen urged the people of the community and other communities across the state to embrace unity and peace at all times.

" I want to assure you that the perpetrators of this attack will not go unpunished 

" By God's grace, they will be tracked and punished to serve as deterrent to others," he said.

The Speaker urged the people of the area to continue to support him as their representative and Gov Abdullahi Sule to succeed. 

It would be reported that preliminary findings shows that Apawu community in Agwada Development Area of Kokona local government was thrown into turmoil this Monday when a yearly festival that graduates Youths into the strata of elders metamorphosed into communal attack thus, resulting to the death of a community leader and destruction of houses and properties.

It would also be reported that the Speaker was accompanied by the member representing Lafia North Constituency, Barr. Esson Mairiga..

Earlier, Rt. Hon Danladi Jatau visited the traditional ruler of the area, the Osu Agwada, HRH Abubakar Sadiq Kaika and the family of the deceased, appealing to the warring factions to tore the part of peace so as not to undermine the efforts of government in wooing development to the grassroots.

In another development, Speaker Danladi Jatau had a stop over at Sabon Gida Mallam mgo in Kokona Local Government to witness the wedding of Isa Ibrahim and Hauwa, son to his campaign Director General, Ibrahim Abubakar with a call on the couple to respect the sanctity of marriage so as to enjoy the blessings associated with matrimony.

The Campaign Director General of the Speaker, Ibrahim Abubakar commended the Speaker Danladi Jatau for the honour and pledged his community's support and loyalty to the present administration.
