The Member representing Lafia Central constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki, has generously distributed 620 bags of 25kg rice and 450 bags of 50kg millet to Muslim faithfuls in observance of Ramadan, aiming to enhance their standard of living during this holy month.
Hon. Akwashiki, affiliated with the SDP and serving as the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, conducted the distribution today in Lafia, underscoring the importance of unity and peace for Nasarawa State and the entire nation.
In his address, the lawmaker, who also holds the position of Minority Whip in the House, emphasized the non-partisan nature of the distribution, extending aid to beneficiaries irrespective of political affiliations, including SDP, APC, PDP, among others.
"I have chosen today to distribute these items to bring joy to the hearts of our Muslim faithfuls across the seven electoral wards of Lafia Central constituency," Hon. Akwashiki stated, recalling his similar benevolent act towards Christian brethren during last year's Christmas festivities.
He reiterated his commitment to uplifting the lives of his constituents, expressing optimism for the success of the House leadership under Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau and the formulation of resolutions and laws conducive to the unity, peace, progress, and development of Nasarawa State.
Assuring continued dedicated representation, the minority whip pledged to prioritize the welfare and happiness of his constituents while urging them to maintain unity and peace for the collective advancement of the constituency and the state.
Mr. Abubakar Hassan, SDP Chairman of Lafia Local Government Area, lauded Hon. Akwashiki's consistent efforts in bringing joy to the constituents and pledged unwavering loyalty and support.
Mrs. Hajara Musa, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the lawmaker for his generosity and offered prayers for his abundant blessings from God.
