In a bid to empower its youth population and curb unemployment, the Kebbi State Government, led by Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has unveiled plans to establish nine skills acquisition centers across the state. These centers aim to tap into the talents of young individuals, fostering self-employment opportunities.

According to Alhaji Nura Bala Fingila, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, four standard skills acquisition centers will be strategically positioned across the state's four Emirates, while an additional five mini centers will be erected at the zonal offices of the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development. This decentralized approach intends to alleviate transportation costs for trainees residing in remote areas.

The initiative underscores Governor Nasir Idris's commitment to investing in the youth, recognizing them as pivotal to the state's development trajectory. The Ministry for Youths and Sports Development has tailored programs in alignment with the National Youth Policy, focusing on skills acquisition, youth empowerment schemes, and sponsorship opportunities, both locally and internationally.

Moreover, the state government is taking proactive measures to address youth-related challenges such as thuggery, juvenile delinquency, and drug abuse. Plans are underway to rehabilitate former thugs, providing them with skill acquisition training and monthly stipends to facilitate their integration into mainstream society.

In the realm of sports, Kebbi State has achieved remarkable feats under the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris, with athletes excelling in various disciplines at national and international levels.
Notably, partnerships with Portuguese football promoters have led to the establishment of a football academy in Birnin Kebbi, offering aspiring footballers opportunities for professional development.

The Ministerial Press Briefing, spearheaded by Alhaji Yakubu Ahmad Birnin Kebbi, Commissioner for Information and Culture, underscores the government's commitment to transparency and accountability, ensuring that citizens are kept informed about ongoing initiatives.

The establishment of these skills acquisition centers signals a proactive approach by the Kebbi State Government towards youth empowerment and socioeconomic development, laying the groundwork for a more prosperous future.
