In a press release issued today, Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris of Kebbi State appealed to the Federal Government to ensure the swift completion of the Smart Secondary School project in the state.
He emphasized the importance of directing the contractor to resume work promptly or face necessary action.
During an inspection tour of ongoing projects in the state, Governor Idris lauded the federal government's decision to select Kebbi State for the project, citing it as a significant boost to the education system.
Addressing journalists after the inspection, Hon. Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Tanko-Sununu, assured Governor Idris of the administration's commitment to ensuring the project's completion.
Tanko-Sununu highlighted the federal government's efforts under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership to revive the project and reiterated its importance as part of the Universal Basic Education Programme.
Expressing disappointment over the project's delay, Tanko-Sununu pledged to expedite efforts to bring back the contractor to the site and complete the work, alongside other ongoing federal government projects in Kebbi State.
The press release also listed attendees at the inspection, including the Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, Minister of State for Education, Head of Service, Rector of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Commissioner for Information and Culture, and Special Adviser on Pilgrims.
