Governor Abdullahi Sule has convened an emergency executive council meeting at the Government House to address pressing concerns regarding security, agriculture, and the prevailing economic challenges faced by the populace.
During the session, Governor Sule emphasized the need for collective decision-making, particularly regarding financial matters.
He highlighted Nasarawa State's commendable efforts in maintaining peace and its crucial role in achieving the Federal Government's food security objectives.
The Governor disclosed plans to cultivate 10,000 hectares of land for crop production, urging strategic planning to facilitate the program's implementation. Additionally, he announced support for poultry farmers and the distribution of monthly cash palliatives to civil servants.
Acknowledging the State Palliative Distribution Committee's commendable work, Governor Sule expressed satisfaction with the fair distribution process.
He emphasized the importance of extending palliative measures to tertiary institution students during Ramadan.
Furthermore, Governor Sule emphasized the state's commitment to supporting final year secondary school students and discussed initiatives to assist Phoenix University Agwada in sponsoring indigenous students for undergraduate studies.
The council also deliberated on Nasarawa State's participation in the Nigerian Climate Adaptation Erosion and Watershed Project, aiming to replicate successful interventions.
