Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, asserts that his administration's commitment to peace has garnered organic and enthusiastic support from the people of Rivers State.
He emphasized the significance of peace in fostering development, highlighting the need for individuals to prioritize the well-being of the state over personal interests.

SSA, Media to the Governor of Rivers State explained that while addressing attendees at a special ceremony organized by the Okrika Council of Chiefs to honor King Ateke Tom, the Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom, Governor Fubara underscored the importance of sustaining previous achievements and fostering a peaceful environment conducive to progress.
"The widespread expressions of gratitude through weekly thanksgiving services across all 23 local government areas reflect genuine support and appreciation for our administration's commitment to peace and development.
Governor Fubara announced plans to initiate reconstruction efforts on the Isaka Community Landing Jetty and to revive the abandoned sandfilling project in the area. Additionally, he conferred first-class status upon the traditional stool of King Ateke Tom.
Former Federal Minister of Transport, Chief Abiye Sekibo, praised Governor Fubara for his dedication to peace and commended King Ateke Tom for his contributions to peace-building in the Niger Delta region.
The event culminated in the conferment of the title of Be Se Poku upon King Ateke Tom by the apex body of traditional rulers and the people of Okrika.
