Alh. Umar Abubakar, the Asumehe Kaka traditional title holder in Opanda Kingdom, has joined his ancestors.
Alh. Umar Abubakar, the father of Abdul-Hamid Abubakar of the Presidency in Abuja, passed away in the late hours of yesterday, Friday, and was buried Saturday morning in Umaisha, Toto LGA of Nasarawa State.
The immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alh. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, joined his Paramount Ruler, the Ohimegye Opanda HRH Alh. Usman Abdullahi, at his palace where the funeral prayer was conducted.
Mallam Mahmud Ibrahim, who conducted the funeral prayer and the burial rites, enjoined people to amend their ways with God and humanity as death is inevitable, which could come at any time.
He stressed that only people's good deeds will stand for them after death.
He urged people to always believe in God and fear Him in all their dealings to have an easy Judgment, just as he gave good testimonies of the deceased, praying to God to reward his good deeds with paradise.
The Ohimegye Opanda HRH Alh. Usman Abdullahi and the immediate past Speaker of the State Assembly, Alh. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, eulogized the good virtues of the deceased, praying to God to forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds with paradise.
Ohimegye Opanda and Balarabe Abdullahi described the demise of Asumehe Kaka of Opanda, Umar Abubakar, as a great loss to the kingdom, calling on all to see his death as an act of God and continue to pray for the repose of his soul.
One of the deceased's senior sons and a senior staff at the Presidency in Abuja, Abdul-Hamid Abubakar, said his father died at the age of 86 as a result of protracted illness, praying to God to grant him paradise, just as he appreciated all those who identified with them during their trial moments.
