From Suleiman Abubakar
Stakeholders of Ekye Development Area, Doma Local Government Council of Nasarawa State, have raised an alarm that Overseer Bello Akuza has moved operations to Idadu instead of Agwashi, the headquarters of the development area.
The stakeholders accused Akuza of abandoning his office and operating outside Agwashi, which has served as the administrative seat of the development area for many years.
They also confirmed that Akuza has not been at his duty post for about 2 years, without stepping foot in the Secretariat of the development area.
When contacted, Hon. Musa A. Ibrahim, representing Doma South in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and also chairman of the House Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development, acknowledged receiving video clips from a committee set up by the Ministry of LGCA&CD to inspect LG and DA secretariats in the state.
He added, "When I received the clips, it was shocking to see that grass had taken over the structures. I am still studying the video clips and other reports before me for necessary action."
"As legislators and representatives of our various constituencies, it is our obligation to correct these wrongs for a better tomorrow," he emphasized.
All efforts to reach Overseer of Ekye Development Area, Bello Akoza was not successful.
