In a recent interview with with our correspondent , Dr. Ikrama Hassan, the Chief Medical Director of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH), addressed rumors surrounding the departure of medical staff from the facility.

Contrary to speculation, Dr. Hassan clarified that only nine doctors had resigned from their positions, not the previously suggested 59.

Dr. Hassan attributed the departures to opportunities at the federal level, which offer greater financial benefits compared to state government health facilities.

He assured the public that the State Government is actively addressing the issue by implementing proactive measures to fill the vacancies.

Additionally, Dr. Hassan emphasized the importance of journalists fact-checking before publishing stories. He highlighted the need for accurate reporting to prevent misinformation.

An anonymous hospital expert echoed the sentiment, suggesting that the State Government should consider revising salaries to mitigate the mass exodus of doctors.

They pointed to the competitive salary structures available elsewhere as a key factor influencing medical professionals' decisions to leave.
