Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has issued a directive for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Psychiatric Hospital located in Rumuigbo, Obio Akpor Local Government Area. Emphasizing the significance of the health facility for individuals with mental health disorders and medical students, Governor Fubara urged for prompt commencement of the rehabilitation work.
During his inspection of the ongoing construction of a 44-bed space center for drug addicts, along with an additional 10-bed space for private patients, Governor Fubara expressed his concern over the current state of the Psychiatric Hospital. He stressed the need for it to be upgraded to meet modern standards and adequately serve the needs of the community.
Accompanied by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh, Governor Fubara commended the efforts of the health officials and announced the state government's decision to take over the project.
