In a concerted effort to combat the proliferation of firearms in Benue State, the Police Command has taken decisive action against suspected arms manufacturers. On March 4, 2024, at approximately 4:30 AM, a joint task force known as Operation Zenda raided an arm manufacturing hideout in Amahundu, Nanev, Kwande Local Government Area, resulting in the apprehension of several individuals.

Benue State Command stated that the arrested suspects include:
- Terer Terfa alias "Gadafi," aged 24
- Aondonaugen Tse-aa, aged 36
- Torkuma Iorlaha, aged 27
- Hangeior Atim, aged 25
- Tyav Terwase, aged 35
- Gundu Gbagbogum, aged 50
- Terwase Shimashan, aged 20
- Terese Terver alias "Gbatiir," aged 18
All suspects hail from various addresses within Kwande Local Government Area, with one individual, Adinga Ramseydihno, aged 33, originating from the Republic of Cameroon.
According to police reports, the suspects confessed to engaging in the manufacturing, local sales, and export of arms. Recovered exhibits from the operation include eight Barretta pistols in various stages of fabrication, one fabricated AK47 rifle, ten AK47 live ammunition, five Barretta Pistol ammunition, four welding gas cylinders, and assorted fabricating materials.
Police authorities have emphasized that investigations are underway to uncover the sources of raw materials and potential additional hideouts. Criminals are warned to refrain from such activities or face severe consequences.
