The Association of Northern Nigerian Students (ANNS) has taken a decisive stand against the recent suspension of Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi by the Senate leadership.

 In a press release issued by , ANNS President, Comrade Sani Adamu, announced a 48-hour ultimatum for the reversal of the suspension, threatening to shut down the National Assembly in protest if their demands are not met.

Expressing profound discontentment with the Senate's decision, ANNS highlighted Senator Ningi's vocal stance on issues of budget transparency and accountability. 


The allegations of budget padding, amounting to a staggering 3.7 trillion Naira unaccounted for in the 2024 budget, have only exacerbated tensions within the student association.

Senator Ningi, renowned for his unwavering commitment to representing the interests of all Nigerians, irrespective of background, has garnered praise from ANNS as a stalwart advocate for the North. ANNS condemned the Senate's action, stressing the imperative for legislators to prioritize transparency and national interests above all else.

The ultimatum issued by ANNS serves as a stark warning to the Senate leadership, highlighting the mounting frustration among Nigerians with perceived injustices and the call for transparent and accountable governance.

ANNS emphasized that failure to heed their demands will result in mass protests that will effectively disrupt legislative proceedings at the National Assembly.
