Youths in Nasarawa State have been challenged to shun any criminal lifestyle that will jeopardize the existing peace in the state and instead engage in meaningful ventures to foster its development in their various communities.
Acting Chairman of Kilema Youth Development Association, Shehu Abbas, made this known while speaking to journalists shortly after the First General Annual General Meeting of the association in Lafia.
According to the Acting Chairman of Kilema Youths Development Association, Lafia, KIYDAL, Malam Shehu Abbas, it is the right time to come up with strategic plans to support the state government and the entire Kilema community to project meaningful development in the area.
He said Kilema community comprises peace-loving people who are united, stressing that the organization under his watch will look at the basic needs of the area and channel them to the appropriate authorities for prompt action.
Malam Abbas said that Kilema Youths have decided to come together to promote peace, girl child education, support orphans, widows, and fight drug abuse among others, calling on members to give maximum cooperation to succeed in the noble assignment.
The Youth leader also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for executing people-oriented projects across the state, appealing to him to extend more developmental projects to the area.
He promised to justify the confidence reposed in them by carrying everybody along irrespective of religious, tribal, and political differences for the progress of the community."
"My emergence as the chairman of Kilema Youths Development Association, Lafia, I am highly delighted to thank the Almighty Allah for giving me the opportunity.
"I know it is an act of God I never dreamed about, and this came to me. I am very sure, considering the problems on the ground or the situation we are in Nigeria and Nasarawa state as the case may be, we would do our best to support the policies of Government in order to reduce the pains and also the challenges people are facing.
"For instance, every month Nasarawa state Government initiated the policy of monthly sanitation exercise so we would do our best with the support of the members to promote a healthy society.
