UK Home Office International Operations Applauds NDLEA's Remarkable Achievements in Anti-Drug Efforts

The collaboration between the United Kingdom Home Office International Operations (HOIO) and Nigeria's National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has yielded impressive results, with the UK government planning further support, including the construction of a maritime headquarters for NDLEA.

The UK Home Office International Operations, through its Director Africa region operations, Mr. Richard Lloyd, has praised the remarkable outcomes achieved through its partnership with the NDLEA. During a recent visit to NDLEA's national headquarters in Abuja, Lloyd commended the agency's effectiveness in dismantling trans-border drug trafficking cartels.

Highlighting the tangible support from the UK government, Lloyd announced plans for the construction of a maritime headquarters for NDLEA in June, aimed at bolstering the agency's capabilities in combating narcotics trafficking.

Expressing his appreciation for NDLEA's efforts, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), reiterated the agency's commitment to its mandate. 

Marwa welcomed the assurances of continued support from the UK, emphasizing the importance of training and capacity building in enhancing NDLEA's effectiveness.

This was contained in a statement signed by Femi Babafemi, Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA Headquarters Abuja, echoed the sentiments of gratitude, emphasizing the significance of international partnerships in addressing drug-related challenges.

The commendations from UK Home Office International Operations underscore the effectiveness of collaborative efforts in combating drug trafficking, with NDLEA reaffirming its commitment to its mandate and expressing gratitude for ongoing support.
