Senator Barau I. Jibrin, the Deputy President of the Senate, extends heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Yobe State following the demise of Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, the state's first elected governor.
Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, who passed away at the age of 75, served as Yobe State governor from 1992 to 2007, and later represented the Yobe East Senatorial District in the Senate for 12 years.
In a statement released by his media aide, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau praises the late Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim as a dedicated leader and politician who served with distinction at both state and national levels.
Expressing prayers for the departed soul, Senator Barau implores Almighty Allah to grant Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim a place in Jannatul Firdausi and offers condolences to his family, urging them to find comfort in his legacy of service to Allah and humanity.
"Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim dedicated his life to the service of Allah, humanity, the state and the country as a whole. As a governor, he worked for the transformation of Yobe State and as a senator, he contributed immensely to lawmaking and other parliamentary activities throughout his 12 years in the Upper Chamber."
The press release, signed by Ismail Mudashir, Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity, extends prayers for strength to the state government, the late Senator's family, and all affected by his passing.
