In a recent development, the Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended and presented before a Chief Magistrate court in Keffi a fake Corps member on charges of Criminal Trespass, Impersonation, and Forgery.

The arrest follows a complaint filed by a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) staff member at the Keffi Divisional Headquarters, reporting an unauthorized individual present during a headcount of Corps members at the Magaji Dan Yumusa Orientation Camp on February 25, 2024.

Identified as Ogeh Bethel Chibuife, a 23-year-old student of Ebonyi State University, Department of Public Administration, the suspect confessed to fabricating her enrollment in the NYSC program to deceive her parents about her academic status. 
She purchased NYSC uniforms and other paraphernalia from the market, sneaking into the camp to take photos, before being apprehended by police operatives.

The state Commissioner of Police for, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has urged individuals contemplating similar actions to reconsider, warning that the law will catch up with them.
