Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has screened and confirmed Mr Abdullahi Bala, a Staff of the National Assembly, Abuja as General Manager, Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Agency (NAYEA) as submitted by Gov. Abdullahi Sule.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau announced the confirmation after the nominee appeared for screening during the House proceedings today in Lafia.
Speaker Jatau urged Bala to live above board while discharging his duties, if finally sworn in by the Governor.
The Speaker also urged the nominee to restructure the agency for optimal productivity.
Jatau directed the Clerk of the House to communicate the House resolution to Gov Sule for his further necessary action.
Earlier, Hon Abel Yakubu Bala, the Deputy Majority Leader moved a motion for the confirmation of the nominee.
Hon Luka Iliya Zhekaba, the Minority Leader seconded the motion.
The House unanimously confirmed Bala as the New General Manager of NAYEA after Hon. Members that represented the nominee LG which is Lafia Hon. Solomon Akwashiki and Barr. Esson Mairiga all spoke extensively in favour of the appointee and his capabilities to deliver on his mandate thus urging their colleagues to confirmed him.
Speaking with newsmen, the new General Manager, NAYEA Abdullahi Bala appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his appointment and the House for the confirmation.
" I want to appreciate His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule for finding me worthy of the appointment.
" I will not disappoint His Excellency, the House and the people of the state while discharging my duties.
" I will do my best to take NAYEA to the greater height," he said.
He pledged to prioritize the welfare of staff of the agency for effective service delivery.
