Nasarawa Lawmaker Hon. Hudu doles out N20m empowerment and scholarships for constituents.

Member Representing the Awe North constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Hudu A. Hudu, has distributed N20,000 each to 147 students of his constituency studying in various institutions as scholarships.

He also distributed N10,000 each to 33 students of his constituency to register for JAMB.

The lawmaker and Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation equally presented seven vehicles to groups and individuals in his constituency.

Hon. Hudu made the distributions today in Awe, Awe Local Government Area of the State.

He said that the gesture was born out of his desire to improve the lives of the people of his constituency.

The lawmaker said that the scholarships and JAMB registration were to complement government efforts in improving the standard of education and to reduce the burden of education expenses on parents.

"I will continue to initiate more projects and programs that will have a direct bearing on the lives of my people. By God's grace, I will continue to do my best in providing the much-needed dividends of democracy to my people," Hon. Hudu said.

Hon. Hudu promised to provide sound and quality representations at the state legislature.

The lawmaker solicited the support of everyone to enable him to succeed and urged his constituents to be law-abiding, respect constituted authorities, and give their maximum support to Governor Sule to succeed.

Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, the Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, lauded Hon. Hudu for putting smiles on the faces of his people.

Akabe assured the people of more projects that would have a direct bearing on their lives.

"The time for election is over; it is now time for governance. That is why His Excellency is providing more dividends of democracy to the people of the state," he said.

The Deputy Governor appreciated the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, for giving the government of Engineer Sule all the necessary support to succeed and called for its continuation.

He said that the state government has procured foodstuffs to be distributed to the people to tackle the present hardship facing them.

Akabe urged the people of the state to go back to farming for food sufficiency and for the overall development of the state.

The deputy governor called on the people of Awe to continue to support Hon. Hudu and Engineer Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

"Where there is peace, there is development. Let's continue to live in unity and peace," the Deputy Governor said.

Additionally, speaking, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, appreciated Hon. Hudu for providing quality representation to his people.

"He is a man who has his people at heart," the Speaker said.

He also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his developmental strides in the state.

"Let's all continue to support Engineer A. A. Sule to succeed and to enjoy more dividends of democracy," he said.

He called on the people of the area to continue supporting Hon. Hudu to succeed and to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

The Speaker also called on the people of the area and the state at large to continue supporting Governor Abdullahi Sule's administration to succeed.

Also speaking, HRH Dr. Isah Abubakar, the Emir of Awe, said that the election is capital-intensive but people voted for Hon. Hudu not because of money.

He appreciated Hon. Hudu for the gesture and prayed to God to bless him abundantly.

The first-class traditional ruler called on the political class to look at the hardship facing the people, especially the rising cost of goods and services.

He urged his subjects and other Nigerians to continue to pray for leaders to succeed.

Earlier, Hon. Shuaibu Hashimu Abdullahi, former member representing Awe/ Doma/ Keana federal constituency and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee of the event, said that the Awe North constituency did not make a mistake in electing Hon. Hudu to the House.

He appreciated Hon. Hudu for making a difference as a member representing the constituency.

"Hon. Hudu has just spent six months in office; he is making us proud by providing the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people of the constituency.

He assured Hon. Hudu of their readiness to advise and support him to succeed.

Highlights of the event included the official commissioning of Hon. Hudu A. Hudu's constituency office in Awe, which will serve as a liaison office with his constituents.
