Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has send Rector of sa Mustapha Agwai l Polytechnic Lafia,known as Nasarawa state Polytechnic, Dr. Justina Anjiode-Kotso to to compulsory leave with immediate effect pending outcome of visitation panels report earlier sent to the institution to investigate some allegations level against her.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State,SSG Barrister Muhammad Aliyu Ubandoma copy made available to our correspondent in Lafia.
According to the statement the action was to allow the whitepaper committee on the report of the visitation panel to perform is duty hitch free without intimidation.
All properties of the institution in the possession of the Governing Council and the Rector should be handed over to the appropriate officer who is not a member of the institution's Governing Council await the final determination of the visitation panel of the polytechnic. statement directed.
Furthermore, Governor Sule has also suspended the Governing Council of the polytechnic with immediate effect.
It noted that sometimes last year, Governor Abdullahi Sule had approved the constitution of a 10-member visitation panel to the Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic Lafia, chaired by Engr. Rabiu Ali to accertain discipline in running affairs of funds specifically Internally Generated Revenue, grants, and other resources meant for the institution. The statement explained.
While Inaugurating the panel by the SSG, Barrister Aliyu Ubandoma tasked members to ensure strict adherence to decent responsibility irrespective of any sentiments, tasking them to work in a more diligent and professional manner as that government was determined to meticulously study the findings of the panel and implement it's recommendations accordingly.
