Governor Fubara Commends Super Eagles and Rivers Hoopers, Rewards Excellence

In a gesture of appreciation and recognition of outstanding performance, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has lauded the achievements of the Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, and the Rivers Hoopers Basketball Team. 

During a reception at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday, Governor Fubara expressed his administration's commitment to sustaining purposeful governance and administrative efficiency, aiming to elevate the state's global reputation through exemplary achievements.
Governor Fubara commended Stanley Nwabali for his stellar goalkeeping during the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast, emphasizing the pride brought to Nigeria through the team's success. He announced a reward of N20 million for Nwabali, alongside the prestigious honour of the Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State (DSSRS).

Furthermore, Governor Fubara extended his appreciation to the Super Eagles' crew, presenting them with a gift of N30 million for their contributions to the team's success.

In recognition of their triumph in the Louis Edem National league competition, Governor Fubara also honored the Rivers Hoopers Basketball Team with a generous reward of N50 million.

The Rivers State Commissioner for Sports, Christopher Green, praised Governor Fubara for his unwavering support, which inspired the Rivers Hoopers Basketball Team to secure the national league championship.

Additionally, Chief Adokiye Amiesimaka, a former Commissioner for Justice and Super Eagles player, commended Governor Fubara's purposeful leadership and acknowledged the pivotal role of sports development in the state.

Governor Fubara urged Rivers people to continue promoting positive activities that enhance the state's reputation and attract recognition on national and international platforms.
