Former Majority Leader and member representing Keana constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Adamu Omadefu, has been bestowed with the traditional title of Iyan Ka Agaza by His Royal Highness, the Osuko Ka Agaza, Malam Mohammad Adeka.

The former member received the title in recognition of his significant contributions to peace, unity, and development in the locality.

The ceremony took place at the palace of the traditional ruler in Agaza today, Friday. 

Among those honored alongside the Honourable Member were former Chairman of Keana Local Government Area, Muhammad Ayitogo, as Osote Ka Agaza; All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairman of Agaza Ward, Steven Ogbole Adeka, as Oseze Egwa Ka Agaza; Idris Oshafu as Osefu Ka Agaza, among others.

The Royal Father stated that the decision to honor the Honourable Member and others was based on their individual contributions to the peace, unity, and development of their people and the land of Agaza.

Osuko highlighted some of Hon. Omadefu's notable achievements during his tenure as House of Assembly member representing Keana constituency.

According to the Royal Father, Hon. Omadefu's contributions span various sectors, including the provision of boreholes, renovation and construction of classrooms, employment opportunities for the area's youth, scholarships, and healthcare facilities.

He encouraged them to continue their efforts for the benefit of the people and the development of the area.

He urged the people to exercise their franchise wisely, peacefully, and in accordance with the law and the provisions of the electoral act in Saturday's House of Assembly bye-election.

In his vote of thanks, Hon. Omadefu expressed gratitude to God and thanked the Osuko for deeming him worthy to be elevated from the traditional title of Dan Iya Ka Agaza to Iyan Ka Agaza. He promised to serve his people to the best of his ability.

He also thanked his constituents for their support of Governor Abdullahi Sule's policies and programs and urged them to continue supporting the administration. 

He expressed optimism about INEC's preparations to conduct a free, fair, credible, and transparent Saturday bye-election in his constituency, where he is a candidate of the APC. He urged people to turn out in large numbers to vote for him, expressing hope for victory by the grace of God.

Others who spoke at the event expressed gratitude to God and thanked Osuko for the honor, pledging to be loyal, obedient, and progressive servants of their people and the community.

The highlight of the occasion was a horse ride by Hon. Omadefu and other awardees from the palace to the house of Moyi Babba Ka Agaza, where they paid homage to the most senior title holder in the palace. 

The horse ride continued to Angwan Leye and Angwan Wuje to pay respects to the ancestors, as tradition demanded.

It was a beautiful occasion symbolizing Hon. Muhammad Omadefu's honor and crown as Iyan Ka Agaza.
