The authorities of Doma Local Government Area in Nasarawa State have urged the warring transporters in the community to operate within the ambit of the law or face sanctions.
The Secretary to Doma Local Government Council, Comrade Ibrahim Isa Usman, issued the warning during a peace and amicable settlement pact at the office of the Council Chairman, Arc Ahmed Sarkin Usman.
During the meeting, which was attended by representatives of security operatives including secret police, NSCDC, SIB, Road Safety, a representative of NUDB, the press, and others, Ibrahim Isa Usman emphasized that members of the Road Transport Employees of Nigeria, as a trade union, have all it takes to operate not only in Doma but anywhere in Nigeria, given the quantum of documents presented at the meeting.
"We want NURTW and RTEAN to provide handwritten letters to the Local Government promising to maintain peace in the community."
