The Covering Rector of Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic Lafia, Dr. Nurudeen Maifata, has promised to operate an inclusive leadership that will bring all interest groups together to spur peace, unity, and development of the institution.
He emphasized that closing ranks is essential for the effective administration of any institution, reiterating the management's willingness to provide necessary measures for growth through an open-door policy approach.
Maifata made these remarks in his office during a courtesy visit by the management of Nasarawa Newsline Newspaper, a leading news medium, in Lafia.
Dr. Maifata encouraged everyone to rally around him with necessary inputs and recommendations aimed at rebuilding the state-owned polytechnic to meet its peers in academic, human resource, and infrastructure development.
He commended the news outfit for its objectivity, integrity, and courage in journalism, affirming his leadership's readiness to partner with the media to propagate its activities for social interaction and public relations engagement.
He stressed that the institution must rise above bickering and unnecessary tension that have stunted its development since its creation 23 years ago, urging public and private institutions to engage the school for meaningful intellectual and human development.
Presenting a letter of congratulations to the Covering Rector, the Publisher/Managing Editor of Nasarawa Newsline, Mukhtar Wakeel hailed the excellence and innovative acumen of the appointee, maintaining that the polytechnic has long needed a better solution to its problems to move forward and achieve its founding goals.
Wakeel advised him to carry all warring parties along, devoid of sentimental interests, adding that the advice and professional opinions of different parties are required to accelerate genuine development.
He reiterated Nasarawa Newsline's unwavering support for the institution at all times, tasking him to establish a center for public relations and protocol to ensure effective crisis management, strategic communication, and information dissemination.
The courtesy visit was attended by the Deputy Rectors of the institution, Mr. Louis John Ogah (Academic), Mr. Ahmad Jubrin Ibrahim (Administration), the Polytechnic Bursar, Zainab Dalhatu, Director Academic Planning, Dr. Dauda Ibrahim, Nasarawa Newsline's General Editor, Shuaibu Usman, among others.
