Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State expresses delight at the positive impact of his administration's support for sports, emphasizing its contribution to the state's role as the undisputed gateway to Nigeria's vast economy.

Fubara highlights the ongoing 2024 NPA Port Harcourt International Polo Tournament at the Port Harcourt Polo Club, themed "Bonding Beyond Challenges," as an example of an event thriving due to economic opportunities created by his administration.

Speaking to reporters at the Polo Club in GRA Phase 2, Port Harcourt, after inaugurating the tournament, Governor Fubara encourages players to prioritize safety, expressing anticipation for a fair competition.

He pledges continued holistic attention to sports development in the state, emphasizing the empowerment of youth.

"This is my first time witnessing an event here. Polo is a game for mature minds, and supporting every facet of the sports unit aligns with my plans to develop sports in the state. This event brings people worldwide, showcasing the state's safety and inviting investors. Currently, the state is a gateway to the larger Nigerian economy."

Governor Fubara, upon arrival, is welcomed by Mr. Ebie Diriyai, President of the Port Harcourt Polo Club, at the 2024 NPA Port Harcourt International Polo Tournament.
