Supporters of Governor Similaiyi Fubara in the Khana local government area of Rivers State have gathered in large numbers to express confidence in his leadership and participate in a solidarity march.

The event occurred at the Nortem Ultra-modern Town Hall in Bori, Khana local government area of Rivers State, Nigeria, on Saturday, January 20, 2024, culminating in a march from Nortem to Bori Police Station.

Addressing the crowd, Hon. Tambari Sydney Gbara, Rivers State Publicity of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and former caretaker chairman of Khana local government, shared his experiences in building the PDP in Khana from its formation in 2013. He expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of support for party members and declared continued allegiance to Governor Fubara.

A statement Signed by Boniface Onyedi, SSA, Media to the, River state Governor stated Hon. Gregory Barile Nwidam, a two-term Khana council boss, emphasized Governor Fubara as the rightful leader of Rivers State, urging non-interference in his leadership. He noted the overwhelming support shown at the gathering as a testament to the people's choice.

Ambassador Marvin Yobana, convener of Ogoni SIM Vanguard, thanked the people for their solidarity and dismissed concerns about the State Assembly's situation. He asserted that loyalists of the former governor and FCT minister Chief Nyesom Wike have moved to the APC, claiming original ownership of the PDP in Rivers State.

Barr. Lahteh Loolo, immediate past chairman of Khana local government, highlighted the benefits Ogonis stand to gain from Governor Fubara's administration, citing appointments, road construction, and promised initiatives. 
He praised Fubara's integrity and urged continued support.
