In a determined effort to mitigate the impact of economic hardship on the less privileged, the Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NAPHDA), Dr. Usman Iskilu Saleh, has inaugurated a new charity initiative, the Iskilu Charity for Alleviation Foundation. The foundation commenced its activities by distributing monetary support to 500 underprivileged individuals in Lafia on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

The distribution ceremony, held at Laying Mai Azara, Lafia, is part of the foundation’s initiatives aimed at complementing the socio-economic intervention efforts of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule’s administration. Beneficiaries received monthly stipends of N5,000, which Dr. Iskilu pledged to sustain throughout his tenure as Executive Secretary of NAPHDA, with plans to expand the number of beneficiaries over time.

Dr. Iskilu emphasized the importance of lending a helping hand in challenging times, urging individuals to assist within their capacity and seek divine rewards. "You don’t have to be wealthy to make an impact; even a small contribution can make a difference," he remarked, praying for the success of the foundation.

Community leaders and beneficiaries lauded Dr. Iskilu for his compassion and commitment. Dr. Hashimu Ada praised Governor Abdullahi Sule for appointing Dr. Iskilu, citing his impressive track record in the medical field. “This appointment is well-deserved, and Dr. Iskilu has proven his dedication to the welfare of the people,” he stated.

Beneficiaries also expressed their gratitude. Mama Balkisu, one of the recipients, shared her joy, thanking the foundation for its timely support and praying for Dr. Iskilu’s success. Mohammad Magaji, another beneficiary, commended the transparent selection process and disbursement of funds, wishing the foundation continued success.

Mallam Musa Abubakar, Dakachi of Laying Super, also applauded Governor Abdullahi Sule for appointing Dr. Iskilu to a leadership position. “Dr. Iskilu’s efforts show us the true impact of governance. He has used his position to directly touch lives, and we are immensely proud of him,” he noted.

The Iskilu Charity for Alleviation Foundation continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to addressing poverty and supporting vulnerable groups, aligning with the broader goals of Nasarawa State’s development agenda.
